| Functional Description |
This construct allows to visualize centromeres by CID-GFP staining under the inducible hs promoter. The leaky expression is sufficient and non-toxic for this visualization, while higher levels of the centromere specific histone CID have been shown to cause toxicity. The LacI fusion doesn't interfere with this staining and is useful in cells were Lac Operators are integrated into the genome for targeting of the construct to a specific genomic site. |
