Nutrient acquisition and utilization are dynamically regulated in lymphocytes and recent studies suggest that cell metabolism not only supports growth and proliferation, but in many cases dictates cell fate and function. Our aim is to gain deeper insight into the metabolic profile of different B cell subsets and to elucidate how various signaling pathways regulate metabolic processes in B cells. Furthermore, our goal is to gain a better understanding of how normal and malignant B cells match nutrient availability with their metabolic and energetic demands and how these cells respond to metabolic stress.
